We sincerely hope that you had a wonderful and safe winter break! As we look forward to another successful semester with you all this spring, we want to remind you that we’ll be undergoing some construction in and around the facilities. The renovations will be completed room by room in order to minimize any disruptions to your daily routine. We appreciate your patience during this time and look forward to unveiling these changes to you! Also, don’t forget that Kent has limited housing available, and as a result, housing fills quickly. If you plan to renew your lease, we strongly suggest you do so as soon as possible to ensure your spot for next year.

 

Maintenance Tips

Need something fixed? Submit a service request in one of two ways: Call the office during regular office hours, or use your resident portal online at campuspointekent.com/residents. Please keep in mind that our maintenance team has limited hours on weekends unless it is an emergency, so don’t be alarmed if your request isn’t handled until Monday.

Cleaning Tip: If you find yourself constantly trying to clean salt from your floors during the winter months, try this easy home remedy of adding one part warm water to one part vinegar. Use a soft cloth to gently work the vinegar solution into the salt deposits. If there’s a large accumulation of salt, allow the solution to sit on the stain to dissolve it. Wipe away the solution and wash the floors as you normally would.
Reminders & Updates

Here are some tips for a successful year at Campus Pointe:

Rent is due on the 1st of each month. You have until the 3rd to pay your rent before late fees begin accruing on the 4th. If you have any questions regarding the payment portal or about your account, please see Jackie Grant in the office or email her at jgrant@campuspointekent.com.

We are officially towing! Baker’s Towing surveys the parking lots every evening. Please remind your guests that they must park in the visitor lot to avoid being towed.

Locked out or have a maintenance emergency? Remember there is always a Community Assistant on call! Just call the office at (330) 673-2202, wait for the list of options, and dial 9. You’ll be connected with the Community Assistant who will be able to assist you.

 

Turning Resolutions into Reality

Did you know that only 8% of people are successful in keeping their New Year’s resolutions? While that may sound discouraging, there are some very practical ways to beat the odds and see success this year! Whether you make New Year’s resolutions or are one of the 38% of Americans who absolutely never makes them, anyone will benefit from a commitment to continuous improvement. Here are some tips for a successful 2017 — and beyond:

Define your “why”: Whether your goal is to improve your GPA or get in better shape, create a “why” statement for any goal you have. Achieving goals can be challenging, so make sure you stay motivated by keeping the purpose in mind!

Write it down: According to numerous studies, the simple act of writing down your goals increases your likelihood of success significantly. When you write down your goals, make them specific and measurable, and put your goals somewhere you will see them.

Tell a friend: Another factor shown to increase your likelihood of success is telling a friend about your goals. You increase success even more when you share progress reports with them.

Take action: Always ask the simple and powerful question, “Is what I am doing getting me closer to where I want to be?” If the answer is yes, keep going! If no, try to make progress by taking even a small step in the right direction.

Enjoy the journey: Remember that much of the benefit of intentional improvement comes in the process, so take time to reflect, assess, and enjoy the journey!
